Mercy Corps Europe selects new finance system based on Infor SunSystems from LAKE

Mercy Corps has selected the Infor SunSystems financial accounting solution from LAKE. SunSystems was chosen for its market leadership and sophisticated charity reporting. LAKE was selected as a trusted supplier to the not for profit sector and for the quality of its implementation staff.

Mercy Corps helps people in the world's toughest places turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress. Driven by local needs and market conditions, their programmes provide communities with the tools and support they need to transform their own lives. Mercy Corps is a team of 3,700 professionals improving the lives of 14.5 million people in more than 40 countries.

A significant proportion of Mercy Corps donors are statutory organisations such as the EC, UN and European, UK and commonwealth governments. The search for a new finance system was driven by the need for highly developed financial management, complex multi-currency reporting and the compliance challenges associated with that.

Liz Sams, Director of Finance for the charity explains:

"We selected SunSystems because it is a market leader in not for profit and has a reputation as very stable and reliable. We needed a sophisticated accounting system that would satisfy our complex reporting needs and would be able to cope with our volume of activity."

An important aspect of selecting a new Finance system is the selection of implementation partner.

"We selected LAKE, firstly, because they are one of the leading suppliers of SunSystems to the not for profit sector and, secondly, for the calibre of their consultants. They are not your traditional IT organisation; they are accountants that have been in your shoes. They are intelligent and probing and I knew they would bring real added value to the process."
