In this update, Huw Wright, Head of Finance, reflects on the service provided by LAKE and offers valuable advice for other companies embarking on an implementation project:

"One of the things I like about LAKE is that they are focused on delivery of realistic business solutions. They also have the skillset to back up their opinions. We would describe something we wanted; they would respond with ‘Does this work?’ ‘Okay. No, it doesn't.’ ‘What about this?’. They've never said, ‘No, it won't work.’ They've always said, ‘Yes, and I think with a bit of tailoring we can make it work even better for you.
"In terms of lessons learned, if I was to do this again, I would say get key people involved earlier rather than later. In an ideal situation, colleagues in operations would have bought in to the project before the implementation actually began. Projects like this involve change, and people respond to change in different ways. It is important they understand the impact it is going to have."
"Another bit of advice I would give is don't try and do a year-end, have a new baby, a new system implementation, AGM and a board meeting all within six weeks!”
