With new systems, training is funded as a key part of the budget for the new system. However, once the system is live, what happens to training?
When a project has just gone live, people know why things are done the way they are, and they know what needs to be done to make things work. However, as time goes by, new people join the organisation, and knowledge and skills become diluted.
There are also a number of tasks that are not everyday activities where you might benefit from a little training. Things like creating a new Journal Type or introducing a new Analysis Dimension are fine when you are right in the thick of the project but will inevitably be more challenging a year or so later.
It is important to remember that LAKE solutions are highly adaptable. There is no need to work around the system. Sometimes, a day or two spent on training will save days and weeks of your time, make you feel good, and improve the service you get from your system.
Most clients prefer training delivered using their own data and example transactions. It saves a lot of time, makes it easier to remember and easier to apply that knowledge.
If one person says cost centre and someone else says department, or if one person uses two analysis dimensions and another six, then time will be lost in translating these differences.
LAKE training workshops can follow a standard agenda, or they can be tailored to meet your team's precise training needs. Here are some examples of recent training workshops we have delivered to clients:
