LAKE is an equal opportunities employer, and has a clear Equal Opportunities Employment Policy (“EOEP”) for this purpose. Our long term aim is that the composition of our workforce should reflect that of the communities we serve. Implementation of this policy deepens our understanding of those communities and widens our scope for recruitment.
Environmental Impact
We are committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimises our potential impact on the environment. Employees are encouraged to work from home and travel is limited to customer visits for the purpose of delivering implementation and training services. The use of public transport is encouraged. Follow the link for details of our Environmental Policy.
Community
Giving back to the communities we represent
Colleagues are encouraged to give back to the communities we represent. Encouragement includes sponsorship for charitable fund raising and entitlement to an additional two days paid leave per annum for the pursuit of volunteering activities.
Here’s a selection of our amazing colleagues helping out in the community:
Summer Fair and Dog Show RSPCA York, Harrogate and District Branch This year’s summer fair raised over £7,000 to help fund the RSPCA home in York. Ruth organised. Glenn, Sarah, Ed, and Paul helped out. LAKE paid for the sausages (and burgers). Did someone mention sausages?
Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers Ed (that’s him behind the driver) out and about in his role as County Chairman of Yorkshire Young Farmers’ Clubs.
Raising money for Maggie’s Centres Debbie took part in the Coastal Crawl to raise money for Maggie’s cancer support centres. Maggie’s drop in centres offer practical and emotional support to people with any type of cancer, at any stage, free of charge.
Harrogate Roundtable Fraser (fourth from left) getting ready to pull pints at the Harrogate Roundtable fund raising beer festival. He went on to sell more beer than anyone else at the festival. Well done Fraser.
Jon coaching Morley U14s Rugby These new jackets, kindly provided by LAKE, will keep the coaches and players warm and dry no matter what the weather.
3,000 Push-Ups in April for Shelter Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged Adrian in this challenge. He raised £605 for Shelter and got a little fitter into the bargain!
Richard is homeless for a day Richard was sponsored to sleep rough as part of an event run by the Huddersfield Town Charity in support of a number of charities.
108km for Alzheimer’s Society Dementia is a terrible disease. The loss of memory is particularly cruel. Motivated by personal experience, Paul, Glenn, and Harry cycled from York to Flamborough raising over £1,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
