Meet Cedric

What does your role at LAKE involve?

I’m a Senior Application Consultant focused on Infor SunSystems and Proactis as well as Q&A. My role involves initial system design, as well as delivery and support.

How long have you been with LAKE and what did you do before you joined?

I joined in January 2015 and before that I worked as an accountant in Sri Lanka for KPMG. I did a software engineering degree in the UK in 2004, I then went on to work as a systems accountant.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I enjoy helping customers to upgrade or implement new systems. Analysing their requirements, and then helping to deliver against them. I enjoy the challenges that come with that.

If you had to pick out three achievements or pieces of work that you’re particularly proud of from your time at LAKE, what would they be?

I am proud of the P2P implementation we did for a national firm of surveyors. It was a really interesting project that ended up being a very clean implementation.

I’m also very proud of a project we delivered for a customer in the insurance sector. From an implementation perspective it was very complex and getting the project over the line was extremely rewarding.

More recently I’m proud of being given the lead role in the delivery of Proactis Source to Contract.

What does your background, experience and knowledge mean for customers?

I think an important thing about being a consultant is having the ability to think from the client’s perspective. In my case this is helped massively by the fact that I have a finance background and have been on the side of the customer. I understand the needs of the customer and the challenges they face. This knowledge and understanding helps me to run successful projects.

What excites you most when you think about LAKE’s future plans and the future of business systems in general?

At LAKE, we always challenge ourselves. We have a very good management team and that helps us to be dynamic. I am excited to see how we deal with future challenges as things are always changing in this industry.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I like cycling and I love spending time with my young son.

What is one item on your bucket list?

I would love to climb Mount Everest. I don’t think I will ever do it, but it would be great if I could.
