Meet Dominik
What does your role at LAKE involve?
I’m in the LAKE Service Desk team so my main role is to respond to cases and resolve issues that are reported by our customers.
I’m also part of the SAP Business One team and I contribute to SAP projects from time to time.
How long have you been with LAKE and what did you do before you joined?
I joined LAKE in November 2014 and before that I was working for a software company in Poland as a consultant. When I came to England I joined LAKE straight away.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I enjoy being in the Service Desk team at LAKE and being at LAKE in general. Everyone here is so nice and supportive. It made my transition to LAKE so much easier.
If you had to pick out three achievements or pieces of work that you’re particularly proud of from your time at LAKE, what would they be?
The first one would be helping LAKE move towards becoming a fully online business as I moved back to Poland in 2019, long before Covid. We were fully office-based at the time and I feel like my move helped LAKE get to grips with remote working before Covid made it an imperative. I’m also very proud of becoming certified in SAP Business One and becoming a key member of the SAP Business One team here at LAKE. I’m definitely proud of that. And finally, I’m proud of being able to adapt and fit in and improve my English skills to the point where I now feel very comfortable working full time in my second language.
What does your background, experience and knowledge mean for customers?
My background and experience give me a huge reserve of knowledge to call on when I’m dealing with new Service Desk cases. This means I can very often help people straight away. I’ve seen so many different issues that I feel like I’m well equipped to deal with a lot of complex scenarios.
What excites you most when you think about LAKE’s future plans and the future of business systems in general?
What excites me most is the fact that we are not only witnessing the changes in the software and IT sector, but we are part of it also. Being able to play a key role in this development with our clients is very exciting.
What do you do when you’re not working?
Currently I am working on a house project so that is taking up the bulk of my spare time. I also play volleyball once a week and I enjoy good food!
What is one item on your bucket list?
To do a skydive but without an instructor as I’ve already done it with an instructor.
What would your specialist Mastermind subject be?
Polish regional cuisine.
