Reaseheath College have implemented SunSystems Cloud supported by LAKE to enable their strategy to integrate key systems and enhance financial management. This transition to a modern cloud-based finance system marks a significant step in enabling better reporting, improving operational efficiency, and supporting informed decision-making.
Charlotte Riley, Head of Finance, explains what prompted the change:
“We’d had our previous system for over 10 years, but the business need had evolved. We wanted to connect HR, student, and finance data to give managers clearer information and help them better understand the impact of their decisions.”
The college selected SunSystems Cloud using a framework process and after consulting peers in the sector. LAKE’s approach stood out from the start.
“When we first met the LAKE team, it was very clear and easy for us to understand what was on offer. The communication was straightforward; there weren’t reams of paperwork – just clear answers. That made the process a lot simpler.”
“LAKE also understood what we needed straight away and didn’t try to overcomplicate things. Their responses gave us clarity, and that gave us confidence.”
That clarity and focus carried through into delivery. Despite tight timeframes, the implementation was well-managed and collaborative.
“Communication was clear every step of the way. There was no unnecessary noise. We had a plan. Both sides were in sync, and where concerns were raised, LAKE always came up with solutions, not problems. That made a huge difference.”
Behind the scenes, LAKE’s delivery team made a strong impression. Their joined-up approach and expertise helped ensure the project progressed smoothly.
“We had John, Gareth, Alex, and Richard involved. They were very proactive, and they worked really well together as a team, and that really came through in the way they communicated. It was reassuring.”
The impact of the new system, and its integration with other platforms, has been immediate.
“Previously, we spent a lot of time downloading and uploading data between systems. Now it flows automatically. It’s quick and efficient, I’m not constantly checking for discrepancies anymore.”
With the successful launch behind them, the team is looking to the future with confidence.
“The project went really well, and the LAKE team delivered what we needed. Now we also have a system we can develop as our organisation goes forward,”
